The timestamp handling can be activated for individual distribution location. There is no need to move every location to the new model at the same time if you support it down to individual distribution location. The only requirement is that LS Centralknows for each location what kind of change tracking it is running.
There is a flag on the distribution location card that defines if the timestamp change track is active for that location.

Current location can answer this by going through the Retail Setup and use the field Local Distribution Location to look up the Distribution Card. It depends on the flag Use Preaction Timestamp.

If this can not be answered, records not found, or not correctly set up, then LSC uses the old preaction base change tracking for the current location.

It is vital for any data distribution jobs to know what kind of change tracking, each distribution location is running.
